Comrades,

I trust you all are enjoying this beautiful summer in Michigan! I have already seen many Posts and Districts show up to their local county fairs and festivals to represent us in their communities. I am so excited to see our members working hard to share support and resources to veterans close to home. This example embodies who we are as an organization, and I hope you keep up this fire we have for service.

I head to our 124th VFW National Convention in Phoenix, AZ this week to represent you all on a national level. I am excited to meet leadership in other departments and share the great things happening in Michigan. We have some exciting events coming up, I hope to see you all next month at our VFW National Home Michigan Day Aug. 6, and Camp Trotter Family Day, Aug. 19! As always, thank you for your service and dedication to Michigan's veterans and their families.

Ray Lopez, State Commander, VFW Department of Michigan
